Re: 2014 NC Sail Piratefest
I know this event is all about sailing our Macs, but is there any chance of some dockside workshops? I am convinced there are a lot of Mac owners that would attend. A lot of us occasional sailors follow you seasoned Mac owners on the forums. I for one would enjoy a hands on workshop on:
Installing and Operating an Autopilot
Properly Rigging a Mac
Tips on Launching a Mac
Favorite Mac Mods
Tips on Approaching and Departing Docks
The explanations we get from the forums are great, but nothing like standing in front of a seasoned Mac sailor with his Mac, while he explains and shows how he added a mod. I can't bring my boat, but I would fly in or drive in for a day of workshops. This would be a great way of bringing in new blood for both the forums and the Mac and Tattoo family. I attended the Atlanta Boat Show this year. They had a brand new Tattoo sitting there with no reps around. There were 15 people standing around it asking each other questions. I could have sold several of them with both hands tied behind my back.
Just wanted to drop this suggestion for your consideration.

APSAUNDERS:
Well... this is not quite that kind of event... and it is not just a MacGregor Event... it is an open sailing event for anyone and everyone. You are welcome to come visit, and everyone absolutely loves to show tips and tricks for their boat (and we do have lots of MacGregors there). But there is nothing formal about it (we don't plan that much). If you do plan to show up, Friday at the dock and dinner would be good for chatting. Saturday we are on the water.
Hope to see you there!

My new boss approved, and my inlaws will be looking after the little ones so Aspen and I are planning to come!
We've decided (as I need a lot more in the seat time) to motor-up from Carolina Beach, stopping over at Swansboro Thursday night, but will need a slip in Buefort Friday.
Also looking forward to camping out at Bear Island (Hammocks Beach State Park) on Sunday on our way back.
This is our first long trip (and my wife's first overnight) on the
, so wish us luck.

Re: 2014 NC Sail Piratefest
I have reserved dockage at Beaufort Docks for 14 boats thus far. A list of the boat name/make/length/width/draft and the days that each boat requires dockage was provided to the Marina. If you have any questions or concerns you can either contact me (Cindy Brown 501-253-1911) or Beaufort Docks (252-728-2503). If you did not provide a specific day that you prefer dockage you are only down for Friday (9/26/14). If you requested specific days other than Friday, Beaufort Docks has been notified. I will continue to keep the marina up to date on changes such as additions or subtractions to the group as time goes on. Looks like we will have quite the gathering this year with approximately 37 people. Looking forward to see all of you.

It'll be tight, but somehow I'll make it.
On a serious note, the power hook up is 30amp right?

These two will be there. The older pirate will be turning 6 on the 27th, so we will bring dessert to share. What is the headcount?

All right ya Bildge Rats!
I have been promoted to Commodore and put in charge of this here event! (yer worst nightmare is true!)
Ron & Cindy had family issues to deal with and will be unable to join the voyage...
I will be posting information on head count, dock list, restaurant and other activities reel soon...
There is a new activity too... for those that get to the docks before 1:30pm on Friday:
Double Decker Bus Tour of Beaufort Historic Sites
Hop aboard and see Beaufort's Historic District from atop a vintage 1967 English double-decker bus while local narrators entertain with the lively legends of Beaufort's past.
Bus leaves at 1:30pm, $10 per adult, $5 per kiddie. (I'll be on it, so ye should be too!... only Pirates allowed!)
