I'm going to let people write all over that horrible fabric that covers the hull sides, with a sharpie marker.
It's going to be a guest book of sorts. Can't look any worse the it does now. Then maybe some day I'll recover it. Or msybe not.
Might work on that bowsprit so I can use the sail I have.
Recover trailer bunks with wraps of line or old fire hose.

Not much on my agenda at this point.

Installed new cockpit cushions last week. Converted lighting to LED. Uprated anchor chain. Anchor with new chain will return to the boat tomorrow or next weekend. Still to come: new Optima heavy duty battery. Hopefully later this year 2x 20W plus 1x 50W solar panels. And I'm considering purchase of a whisker pole.

The two big jobs I have going on:
1. Installing 31 gal Plastimo water tank under v-berth.
2. Relocating batteries, charger, and inverter under v-berth.

A bunch of other small jobs/mods:
1. Replace furler fairleads with fairleads that have inserts.
2. Repair bow cleat. Found a loose cleat and discovered that it was installed using those spring-loaded drywall type nuts. Scary that it was the cleat I used for the anchor. I filled in the approx. 3/4" holes with wooden dowel, dished out the fiberglass, and layed up new fiberglass. The cleat will be installed with a backing plate.
3. Installed an eye in the anchor locker to connect the end of the rode to.
4. Replaced throttle cables.
5. repair leak in the trailer brakes.
6. Install LED light on the arch to illuminate the cockpit when needed.
7. Install underwater LED light to the stern near the ladder.
8. Rework cockpit table. New hinges and refinish.
9. Installed new bimini.

I have 2 more weekends to get it all done. Making a tray to hold the batteries has taken a bit of time. Mostly due to fiberglassing. It is now complete so I can continue on with all the v-berth work.

I like it. Any idea how much it costs?

Of course, I don't even have a bow roller, and store a crummy Danforth knock-off that never wants to set even in sand in the standard anchor locker, but that's besides the point.

Mantus is really on a roll lately. 8) :D

Wow I want one. I wonder if this will make that puny stock anchor roller usable. A couple of months ago I was looking at getting a Rocna or similar and actually had my boat at the dealer: he couldn't see any way to use the stock roller for any anchor and neither could I.

Maybe this is it...will do some research.

Well, there ya go. :| I was on their site, and somehow missed the price. Par for the course, I'm afraid. :?

Price looks pretty reasonable, too. I just need a real anchor, and a roller to put it on now.

Wow! You guys are a bunch of over-achievers!

Given that I am obsessive compulsive about mods, it makes me feel better to see how ambitious you guys are.

I currently have my Mac parked in the front yard for the annual compounding, wax, and outboard service (impeller and lower unit oil change).

Then it’s back to the boat lift on the lake down the street where it has resided for the past nine years. Fortunately, it’s year round sailing here in Texas. If only we had that nice clear water like those folks in Florida…

K9Kampers wrote:My mods list always carries over from year to year. I still have things to install from when we got the boat nine years ago! Unfortunately, since I work on the road for weeks at a time and home visits are short, I won't get any workshop time until the start of the boating season. The upside is that I'll have much more time off this summer for projects and sailing!
9 yrs wasting so why not donate that stuff to my cause & I,ll sail test it for u until u r ready to use it !! :)

Just saying

How did you make out with replacing the centerboard haul-up line? I need to replace mine on a 26 M and the existing line seems to be well stuck in place inside the centerboard (CB). I am not sure how it is routed inside of the centerboard. Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
