It just folds up and clicks into place without need for a bracket. The hinge has a little spring loaded pushbutton that clicks into place either fully up or fully down.

But I definitely definitely want to be able to cover the windows. I've been on my 26x for two months now in a liveaboard slip with other liveaboards around me. Obviously, you have to cover the windows, especially at night.

This product was the perfect solution.

The shades adhere directly to the windows with suction cups with an unbroken success rate, whether it's a hundred degrees and 100% humidity or 30 degrees and snowing (as it has been a surprising amount here in Seattle recently). I've had them for three years. Once I learn how to put them on properly, they have never once fallen off the windows.

Perhaps best of all, for storage, the shades fold up and store in tiny nylon sleeves. Collectively, when folded up for storage, all six sleeves combined are about 8 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick, smaller than a novel, kind of like a little pack of tortillas or pitas.

They are completely opaque and you can neither see into nor out of the windows when they are in place. When you go sailing or want to let in sunlight, it requires about 2 minutes total to take them all down and put them in their little bags.

If I lost these I would purchase them again immediately.
Do you happen to know what sizes worked best for all the :macx: windows? These look perfect for my current hunt for blinds

The shades have taken some rough handling and are still doing fine.

3 x 1535

2 x 1510

1 x 1530

I didn't order a cover for the window in the head because that window has two vents installed (Nature's Head, etc.)

One can not see through the two holes in each shade where the stoppers attach to the windows because the stoppers are opaque.

We stumbled onto a simple curtain approach for the side windows: Sunbrella cloth with a thin cord sewed into the edge, which tucks into the gap that we have between the wood trim and the plexiglass. The fabric should be a little stiff. In fact in our bottom windows, the cord is unneeded as the sunbrella is stiff enough to stay on its own in those smaller windows. So the bottom windows are just fabric cut and heat sealed.
This will not work on the overhead windows since those have no frame / gap.
When not in use we will lay these coverings under a cushion.
No velcro or hooks required.

Called and left a msg. Gent called me back and had what I needed. Nice that he was in Illinois. Still has stock, but when it's gone it's gone.

I previously purchased flexible blackout screens with suction cups that attached to the windows that fit perfectly on the windows of the 26x. All seven screens fold up and fit into a storage bag about 12 inches in diameter and 3 inches thick. I've had these about 10 years and they still work well. I purchased them from https://www.seoladair.com/waterline/bla ... index.html Unfortunately, it appears seoladair is no longer able to get new stock due to "supply issues."

On our Mac26X We used basic grey pillow cases as they already had a “sleeve” sewn in on one end.
We cut down the long seam that makes the pillow case into a sack to open and flatten out the fabric.
Trimmed the length and width to fit the windows plus a little bit more to allow overlap.
We then inserted a HD thread through the “sleeves” and looped the ends over the window “buttons” to provide the means to hang them.
After that they simply slide along the HD thread to open/close.
The “no sew” approach was relatively inexpensive, fast and easy to accomplish.
A little bit of “Liquid Hem” dressing would take care of any end raveling should that ever be a concern in the future.

If we ever desire to change the curtain ‘decor’ all we have to do is find a pack of pillow cases at a box store that we like and repeat the process without much effort or complications.

In an ideal world I must admit that I really really like what BOAT accomplished with his approach on page 1 of this post!
That looks and appears to function perfectly!
He did a great job with that! Especially for those sloping front windows!

Maybe someday after I whittle down my “To-Do-Lists” we might attempt to accomplish something similar to BOAT.
