Simple Interest ready to leave Steinhatchee. I'll anchor in the river and get an early start in the morning (Wednesday).

Image
Arrived at Marina (Friday afternoon) to meet Mardy (the Admiral). Met Greg (on the right). He had just sold his X so he's not coming.

JJ (jsquared) getting ready to launch (he's the one in front, I'm the other one.

Mardy and I onboard and ready to follow JJ to the island.

On our way.

Me making sure the anchor is setting.

Image
Saturday morning. Anchored with Jim. Getting crowded here so we moved over to the west side of the island.

JJ and Dave on one side of me.

Jim on the other side.

Dave, JJ, me, and Jim in front of our boats.

View from the beach. Same four boats.

Down to three.

Not long after these pictures, JJ went home. Mardy is not feeling well so I took her back to the dock to go home. Ron arrived from the south just after I returned (just before sunset). Sorry, I did not get any pictures of him or his boat.

We all spent the evening on the beach around a campfire followed by an exciting evening when the winds picked up to around 20kts around 1AM. Other than trying to reignite the fire and pushing the (almost beached) boats around, there were no problems.

Everyone was refloated (with a bit of effort) the following (Sunday) afternoon and I headed back north under sail.

Thanks for the kind words. The pictures were a group effort by Greg, JJ, Jim (and his wife Paula), my wife, and even a couple by me. One of the downsides of single-handing is that I'm often too busy to get all of the pictures I want. "I've always depended on the kindness of strangers", when it comes to photos.
