Yes, I suppose I should put some oil in it, but just so I make sure I don't forget, I've tied a bag onto the gas cap with a quart of oil in it!kmclemore wrote:Well, I can understand not putting gas in it, but I'd certainly at least put the oil in it. In an emergency I'd hate to forget to put in the oil and have it lock up in a matter of minutes - or have the low-oil shutoff engage and then spend precious time tring to find out why the blasted thing won't start. Besides, putting that oil in is gonna be a real PITA to do in the dark.Dimitri-2000X-Tampa wrote:It is also a portable hurricane backup generator so by not putting gas and oil in it yet, I can keep it in an upstairs closet along with the wall unit A/C I would run with it.

But I am lucky to have snagged a *very* cute wife. However, why the h*ll she ever puts up with me is one of life's great mysteries!

The 'stache comes with a story... I was once a Race Director for the "Core States Bike Race", held here in Phila. It was the only US race that qualified for World Cup points, and as such was a fairly important race - it has since been renamed. Anyway, every year I'd grow the stache out (which was normally a very conservative edges-of-mouth fur strip) into a long 'handle-bar' stache to go with the bicycle theme... also, it made it easy for folks to recognise me so they could find me during the crowded race. One year "She Who Must Be Obeyed" suggested that she liked it, and that I should keep it year 'round. So, although I worked for Itsy-Bitsy-Machines at the time - and those were the days of *very* strict dress-code regs at IBM [white shirt, blue suit, red tie, short hair, etc.] - I managed to get by with it since Core States Bank (now Wachovia) was one of our major customers and, after all, I was doing this for a customer!eric3a wrote:I always thought Kevin's avatar was some actor playing a Brit in a WWII movie or series. (Since then, I can't shave it off since nobody would recognise me anymore!)
