deja_vu - I have get 17 mph with my 50 hp BF all the time execpt pulling the dinghy and I have the mast up with sails and covers and bimini without ballest. When new and empty, I could reach 17 mph with ballest full.
What type of prop do you have? Any dings? Bottom condition? Do you use marine fuel? Are you sailing in the lake next to Salt Lake city?
Do you have the Mercury shop service the motor? What WOT RPM's?
