I read recently in a boating mag that American outboard boat engine manufactures were complaining that the Japaneese are dumping their engines on the US making it very difficult for the Amercan Manufactures to compete.

I also very recently heard the same complaint made by Bedroom furniture manufactures in NC complaining that the Chineese are doing the same with their imported bedroom furniture.

Having grown up in NYS in a town that prided itself on furniture manufacturing as well as shoe and computers. I can feel both sides of this issue as years ago the NYS furniture manufacturing slipped away to NC.

Oh well back to the subject. I hear a lot of plus's going for Yamaha engines.

The jury is still out on my Suzuki the shop will be looking at it this week. I will keep my fingers crossed that it is something simple or stupid that I did.

My 1999 Merc 50hp four stroke, non bigfoot has never failed me. Although last time out I thought it had, until I noticed the lanyand had gotten pulled out of the kill switch, duh. Great outboard though
