Hello All!
Thank you for your company on this voyage. My crew and I truly enjoyed the week-end sailing and Saturday evening meeting you all.
Pictures from the dinner are ready.
Perhaps another time.

Re: Catalina Anyone? (for Jul-Aug 2008)
I'd like to thank everyone for joining us. Seven Mac's and seventeen sailors showed up.
My Admiral, Margaret, and I had a wonderful time sailing, and motoring to Two Harbors and back, across 30 miles of open ocean. Next time it'll seem pretty easy. We especially enjoyed meeting and getting to know other Mac owners. I hope that everyone else enjoyed the trip, as well.
I'm impressed with how FAST the container ships and oil tankers move through the water.
The weather was perfect!! There was a bit of wind, no fog, and a lot of sunshine!
I particularly want to thank Hardcrab, (Bill and Sue), who shepherded us across.
Again, thanks,
Dennis

My mother and I had a wonderful time! It was our first trip to Two Harbors even though I have been to Catalina over a hundred times over the decades. Everyone was just wonderful, we felt very comfortable and welcome. I look forward to our next jaunt, let's make it soon! I learned a few things on this trip, including that there is no buffalo in Buffalo Milk! Here are the three shots I managed to take on this trip, The Yam has the burgundy canvas.

I was there last weekend and saw all the Mac....definitely brought back lots of cool memories! I have a few video clips that I'll post on Youtube when I get a moment.
I was happy to see Pat from Tropico who stopped by the Baja Ha-ha rally to say hello.

PokerRicardo,
Hola! Coma Esta?
The name "Sea Eagle" has two sources:
My Admiral and I are long-time bird watchers. Sea eagles, including the American Bald Eagle, are usually black and white birds. Since our Mac is black and white, it fits.
Also, black-hulled boats are often associated with PIRATES!! If anyone is interested, I would reccommend a book:
"The Amazing True Story of Imperial Germany's Gentleman Pirate, The Cruise of the SEA EAGLE"
by Blaine Pardoe
The Lyon Press
Copyright 2005
Its an obscure story, but I think its an exciting one:
" On December 21, 1916 , the three-masted sailing ship slipped out of the river Weser in northern Germany. Her captain had false papers ....."
enjoy,
Dennis

Go ahead Rick, just go on and rub it in.
Dennis, you and Margaret are very welcome. You're Cat vets now.
We also enjoyed meeting friendly, like-minded motorsailors.
Our thanks to everyone for sharing some of their stories and backgrounds.
Depending on dates, we are ready to return asap.
Hope to see some of you in the meantime, sailing out of MDR.
