Just remembered this...beginning of this season my steering was stiff, and I remembered I had forgotten to lube the engine mounts. Most macs have the engine coupled to the helm so that the engine moves with the wheel...look for a couple of "nipples" on the engine where it pivots...the are small metal things with a rounded end. You or your mechanic put a grease gun on these and pumps grease into the area where the motor twists...making sure it moves easily.
Sometimes called grease nipples or zerk fittings too.
