Is the Colonel King halyard somehow harder than tying a bowline knot to the bitter end of the halyard and shackling it to the head, with maybe a block at the base of the mast to return it to top under some control, and perhaps some blocks to take it to the cockpit? It seems like a pretty easy thing to figure to me unless I'm missing something.

You can even just tie it off. The only tricky part is getting the halyard length right of course.

The "MAIN HALYARD LED AFT KIT" I got from BWY a long time ago came with all double blocks so I already have everything I need for the Halyard's return trip back down the mast (??) right?
