Yep I seen that kicker mod brkt & intend to do the same on my boat , also got a 2015 Merc 6HP 4stroke , new Walker Bay 10 , & Breeze Rid 310 Sail/Tube Kit , back up safety both ways

Beauty about this set up if u r anchored in a nice sweet spot for a few days u can row, motor or sail about with it all day & got a back-up motor & rigid dinghy to boot ,Darn wish I could go with U or with a group of boats would be better & more fun than one or two boats

Gazmn, every time I see a photo of your boat I have to do a double-take and then a triple-take. Is the snorkeler in the photo in the water because there wasn't any more room in the cockpit and that was the only way he could come along?

That new 115 has its work cut out for it!

I have to check some previous threads to see what you did with that cockpit drain-hole and the plastic hose which drains it through the cabin, which must certainly be well below your waterline in most conditions. It's one of my big worries and something that I would address in a permanent fashion before attempting any type of ocean voyage. Even though no one has ever mentioned a failure, it just creeps me out.

I don't know if there is anyone on this site who hasn't read Chinook's log of the Bahamas trip, but just in case someone hasn't seen it here is the link http://bwyachts.com/chinook/bahamas_2011/. Hours of good reading, and candidly written with lots of good advice. If you can't learn something from reading this log, you probably shouldn't be the captain of a boat, in my opinion.

Here's a recent discussion I started, with a couple of pics of the drain line in the stern. Which reminds me - I need to clean that up this spring. Thanks for the reminder (scribbling an entry in my to-do list).

Re: Drain hole, the boat's still at the marina/installer, waiting for the thaw and a good test run.
When I get it home, I'm considering glassing it over; or permanently closing it some otherway to lessen my sinking anxiety too.

I don't know that the hose can be rerouted & a higher drain line put in. I'm trying to think of something to fill that bowl with permanently too.

I don't know if it's worth the bother, but you could always replace it with a bronze thru-hull, with shutoff valve. Reinforced hose with two SS clamps at each end. No different than any underwater thru-hull, like cooling water intake for an inboard, or seawater suction for a head.

But I would NOT hard pipe it, as there is probably flex between the motor mount transom and the bottom of the well. Small though that flex may be, any flex over time will start trouble if you add a hard point.
