So I stripped all the rigging off the mast
Posted it for sale for $500 as a bare mast (on Wilmington NC craigslist for more luck, more sailboats there)
I unrolled the sail and this is what I found
And this huge sail...no idea what it is...It looks to my novice eye in pretty good shape surprisingly
Still a good score?? Can I use this on the venture?

oh one more thing...Is there a "bottom" piece to this I may have left on the hoopty?
I left a few things on it, but nothing that I thought connected to that, but I could be wrong...
there is still time to go back and save it if I need another piece to this thing

Nicely done....
Cruising design makes the flexible furler used on most boats in this forum

I am summarily and thoroughly p*wned ...I am liberally applying Macgregor ego salve this morning...
What was the final cash tally out or in pocket?
Getting rid of the carcass while keeping the trailer was masterful!!!

You must have kids too (I have a teenager) I had to look up what P*wned meant first time he said it to me
Right now the tally is :
$400 for the hoopty
$800 at least in gear for the venture (pulpits are pricey i found)
$1200 dual axle trailer for the venture
Still in the air
The mast - need to sell
The old mac single axle trailer - Need to move the boat and then sell
Pay back my friend his $400
Hopefully profit, but I am happy with all the gear

If you got rid of the hulk without disposal fees you have done well, Ferengi-san..

I wouldn't mind trading the Mast for some Gold Pressed Latinum
Working on the trailer bunks now

Link to the furler information you need for your "Reefer II". It apparently has a nifty cam arrangement that goes on the end of the halyard that also detaches from the sail once it is raised into place, apparently so you can use the halyard for other things.
http://www.sailcdi.com/spmain.htm
If you click on "Reefer Systems" it will take you to the information that will show you what size/type you have, as well as spare parts lists and manuals.
Hope this helps.

I checked, but I don't see what it attaches to on the boat
Anyone got a pic...I have limited time to go back and snag stuff....might be too late already

I would check out Sumners trailer mods pages
http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner ... index.html
Also his bottom paint mods might help with the trailer swap.

Some really great engineering there.
