Blue versus White Hulled Boats. Has anyone actually checked to verify the difference in temperature? I just dont buy this. Yes a car does because it has large flat horizontal heat collector area. Most boats I have seen , like the Blue Mac's , all have white decks . We have Black Hulled boats in Mexico and I have been on a couple enclosed dark green boats and didn't feel there was a difference.

You can certainly feel the heat on the blue hull. Especially if you are on the sunny side of the boat on a warm day. It does get warm. Not doubt it will be warmer than a white hull boat. I don't have any concrete thermometer numbers to verify it. But you get the 'damn' its warm down here feeling on hot days, big time, on the blue boat!

Then again, the blue just looks so nice! Would still buy it, even with the the maintenance issues

Paul my white hull gets hot as well. I am hoping for a side by side comparison. I know that most if not ALL of us have those 12V rotating fans down below. If the white hulls didn't get hot I wouldn't have those noisy little bas$%&'s down there. My slip neighbors laugh when I put out my Polish A/C unit while we are in the slip on hot days and nights.
That unit is a Big Round Plastic 3 speed Floor Fan . I fully open the forward hatch and slip it outside to lay over the hatch. Then depending on the need we either push air in or suck air out. They laugh because most have real A/C and the electric is free .

I like the guys' pedestal cover and jibsail bag in pacific blue. At 20" X30" X 48" deep I wonder if it is too big for an M pedestal? As if I didn't have enough blue accessories! :D Very tempting stuff though!
