Exactly. The thing about state towing widths is just part of the MacGregor "reality distortion field."

's Bluewater now half way across the Pacific sailing from LA to Brisbane.

It is strapped onto a 50,000 ton ship about the safest way I could make it bluewater.

Time to fess up argo you are a bluewater keeler taking the pi$$ aren't you.

Moe is correct. I had a memory fade. Even my own 26' travel trailer is 8'5" wide counting the awning.
Still, beam is important and there are few boat larger than 26' that have less width than the legal maximum. One can't stay on interstates forever. My old Crealock designed CM30 was 8'2" and it would make an excellent cruiser, and is trailerable, but they are hard to find anymore, though I saw one in a backyard in Albuquerque, NM a few years ago.

ARGO, if you are on, watch the documentary channel at 0300 east coast time, on 3-18-08. this sailing doc will give you a bit of insight into sailing "bluewater" without the proper boat. record it if you can. Stew
