Took a 6 day 7 night cruise aboard 'Insagal'. Cruised the Florida East coast from Canaveral to Fort Pierce and back. Was fun ... here is a a rushed clip of the cruise and a few shots of a few weeks back.

Lotsa beach landings and island adventures ... metal detecting for lost Spanish Gold.

Find anything?

I'll never tell 8)

Big T,

Nice trip, nice pics. I hope to do most of the East Coast of Florida some day...heck, if I am dreaming I might as well make the turn and come up the West Coast as well.

DId you spend much time on the outside or did you stay mostly inside the barrier?

Cheers,
Jim

Jim;
Most of the time we spent 'inside' because of my love of the islands and 'party central areas'. I sweep the islands that are popular party areas with a metal detector, just to pass the time I suppose. Doesn't pay a whole lot but it is 'intriquing' to say the least. Beth loves to cook aboard the Mac and to shell the beaches.

Not much good for shelling of course, but then we normally vacation the Southwest areas of Florida and the Keys where shelling is good. Very good and so goes snorkling.

We sailed the 'outside from Canaveral to Sebastian, then went inside south to south of Vero Beach. Heading back to Melbourne we stopped at a few islands to play and buddy let me tellya it was a great vacation. Only 2 weeks, but very relaxing.

I needed that

I took this on my last sail of the season in late October.

Out of the gray stillness of Lake Michigan came the St Marys Challenger. The Challenger has been hauling materials on the great Lakes for 103 years. She is still steam powered. Famous in Chicago as the Medusa Challenger, mayor Daley tried to ban her from the Chicago River as a "cursed boat" (bridges would jamb)

Back in 2007, we were getting prepared to buy our first MacGregor - a 2000 26X. Everyone on this site was a huge help in making that decision. With a young family of 4 now, it was a lot of challenges and work for my wife and I to get it out and make it happen. We are so thankful for the inspiration found on this website and we just love our MacGregor. My wife has said to me, when finances get tight ... "don't you even think about selling the MacGregor!" ... now, how is that for an wife? Here is our video of the last 2 years on our MacGregor ... blessings!

What a great thread, I've enjoyed all the pictures.
Big T- I'm also in central Florida, how long did it take you to go from Canaveral to Sebastian on the outside? Did you sail or motor that leg?
I've been wanting to do the opposite direction form Canaveral to New Smyrna on the outside and come back down on the intercoastal. I calculated from Canaveral to New Smyrna inlet to be about 70 nautical miles...., in the meantime we're getting short on daylight!!
