That was my mistake, I was supposed to press "stop" before installing them. So that was Justin making all that noise.Phil M wrote:You are not supposed to play them too loud.Don T wrote:Hello,

Re: quick fix for rudder slop
Are you implying that anyone on this board has ever wasted money on a Justin Bieber CD at some point in the past, in order to be able to fix the rudder slop today?
I wish to tale umbrage at this affront.

I agree, best with 2inch diameter durin/Teflon washers on Macx.

Do you mean to tell me Iowa, that the Beebster is causing you stress?March wrote:Are you implying that anyone on this board has ever wasted money on a Justin Bieber CD at some point in the past, in order to be able to fix the rudder slop today?

You can have him baby, he's yours now...
Look - it's a gap. Fill it with newspaper. Stuff goes away (So does Justin, hopefully!)

Re: quick fix for rudder slop
MAN I gotta get that done - I need to schedule a trip to mastreb's house to see if those spacers are still laying around over there. Hey Seahous! How about some really big thick steel unbending washers for the OUTSIDE of the brackets too?

Re: quick fix for rudder slop
Hey BOAT!
Once these shims are installed and the pivot bolt is snug, it makes the bracket assembly a strong enough unit that I think the weak point (the next point of failure) will be somewhere else in the steering or rudders themselves, and not at these brackets.
But the the giant washers (and a longer through-bolt) can't hurt, and a local shop will be able to make those. 3/16" thick, 2 - 1/4" diameter with a 3/8" hole stainless steel is what you want to ask them for. Go with a larger outside diameter than that and you will be interfering with the nearby hole for locking up the rudder for trailering. But you can go larger and put a clearance hole for that in too if you wanted to.
BTW - I am working on a set (and a spare) right now (it's easier to make them at the same time) so if anyone else would like a set of these please pm me, thanks.
