Maybe we should take a stab at the Edge's bareboat price with trailer?

$42,999.00 :?:

At first glance it looks like it would almost be the equiv of our Mackman 28 and depending on price and a bit of tough scrutiny could just be what some here have been asking for.
Looks really good, a bit more info would be great.

I'll bet that puppy tops 35k without the motor and trimmings! 8)

The boat itself is over eight feet wide. Who ever tows it will need papers in some states.

Looks nice, like a duck, motors like a duck, probably sails like a duck. If I'm going to step up I'll go 30' plus. If I have to by new to replace my macX i'll go for a macM. While Hunter has a name in the keel boats Macgregor has it in the power sailers. And there are as many who would not own a Hunter of any size.

It might look nice, but would require special permits in Australia to be towed as it is over 2500mm in width. One would expect the trailer to be wider still.

Can't see that they would sell too many here. Price tag I guess around the A$80K- A$90K mark including the motor and trailer.

I think you will find the price will be more like $100-120 here Dirk.

A 6 gal fuel tank may have problems. I wonder what the price after the intoduction will be.

Any ideas on how the rudder works?

I like the M better because of the galley and head set up.

I am docked next to an older Hunter 27 and 29. My above water is at least 1 foot higher and I do look larger than both.

A towing width of 102"(8'6") is legal in all 50 US states w/o permit.

It is allowable for safety equipment like mirrors to extend beyond this width.

I believe montana is the only exception to this and I think they allow 9'

seems OK...I think I'd go with a freedom sooners though. But! The ease of the mac cant be touched.

I'd like to see mac come out with a new model, some more features, maybe a foot or two longer.

I am with you, I think 32 or 36 with a bow thruster are about the largest I want to keep clean that are roomy enough to retire on. There is a really beautiful double ender at Waukegan, with radar and a clean deck right in front of the south harbor house.
