When will there be a new 26M, what new features can we expect , what would you like to see ?

The next MacGregor model will be a blend of the popular styling and the preferred speed. While some may refer to it as the MX, it will be marketed as the MacGregor Z. Features will include, but not be limited to a larger cockpit than either previous models, with swing-aside helm & larger helmwheel. Built-in fuel tanks will feed an inboard engine with retractable jet outdrive. The absence of a OB will result in a clean walk-thru transom / swim deck. The mainsail will double as a solar panel. The cabin area will be designed in a way so as to accommodate a variety of modular, interchangable cabinetry / furniture, allowing owners to custom design their own interiors. More to follow...

I would like to see a stronger D/B made giving you the option to fill it with sand for extra balast then pull the plug when trl & the sand will dispose of its self going down the rd

And oh,bye the way,there's a slight price increase to 68K.

And you forgot to mention the dual axle titanium trailer.

Did you mention that the inboard motor will be an Electric motor equal to about 65 Horsepower.
The roller furler Genoa will also be a Solar Panel, which can be furled to controll Voltage and charging.'
Retractable wheels will be installed in the Hull so that the boat can travel on land. If caught at low tide, or run-aground, simply drive into deeper water. Keep your trailor out of the water. eliminate docking fees.

This boat will be built by a joint Venture, which includes Roger Macgregor, Ted Turner and Al Gore.

The retractable wheels were used back in the 60s on the steel-hulled Boatel houseboat. You'll need gear doors (like those used on retractable gear airplanes) to keep the hull streamlined. What about foils for the blue-hulled Macs so they can keep up with the white-hulled Macs?

And do not forget the 'insta pop up pilothouse' to keep us comfy on rainy days and the 'push out bathroom' kind of like the rooms on motorhomes only this one is so amazing it can push water aside as it expands to accomodate the elbows and knees of a tall man.

I was recently sailing on a 47' Nauticat last Wednesday and then our Mac this weekend and you know what?-love our cozy little Mac....Yes, the Nauticat was splendid but for the costs we could travel the world for years....And the size meant their was a ton of stuff to take care off----we are too lazy for all that. Our Mac is not too big...not too small...just right except our 2002 Mercury 50 HP EFI motor which had a survey (Ha! Ha! ..we think because we paid for one-long distance purchase) before we bought it will not run above 2500 RPM without the alarm going off.

I guess the only thing I dislike about our Mac is the motor...but we will get that solved and all will be well..
