I think I will recaulk the deck....

Post by Paul S »

......was what the current owner was thinking one day...

What happens when you buy a boat..get a clean bill of health from the surveyor..and go down to the boatyard to recaulk the teak deck.. hours later.. no deck!

Then starts a 26 month restoration of the ENTIRE boat! The subdeck is now marine plywood, with resin applied, dynel applied over that, then Teak Decking Systems (2 piece custom deck glued and vacuum sealed down) applied over that! This puppy ain't leaking again!

If all goes well she will be ours shortly! Cross our fingers!!

Looking at all of those pics, what on the boat isnt new?

Or in other words, "Party on Pauls new Boat" "free beer!"

Just the teak top surface was the cost of 2 new macs, never mind the subdeck and labor!

The teak is left natural. There is only the toerail and cabin top that is varnished.

It was even repainted (awlgrip) after the restoration! the cost was another Mac (I think we have a new currancy..LOL). It hasnt seen water...or daylight..since it was repainted in 07.
