Shiny Boat Leads to Mayfly Mass Suicide...

In the last few weeks I have finished restoring the finish on my 2001
by using the Vertglas restoration system, I meant to post some pictures but I lost my phone, which contained the final pictures of the boat, into the Chesapeake on our first sail of the season on Sunday. I will post some pictures next week, generally the boat looks awesome and I can't say enough about the early impression I have of the Vertglas system. If it lasts as long as it is suppose to you may find me selling the stuff on late night TV for them... Despite my happiness I have discovered something very strange:
This morning (Memorial day morning) I went over to the boat early in the morning and was aghast to find the boat covered, I mean covered, I mean covered covered, in dead Mayflies. I estimate there was a dead fly every half inch all over the boat, except on the sliding hatch where I didn't use any Vertglas. It was freakin crazy! I looked around and didn't see flies on anyone elses boat except my neighbor 2 boats down, his 38 searay was also covered in flies in exactly the same way. The interesting thing is he's the one who talked me into using Vertglas! He applied Vertglas to his boat last season...
I have no idea why all the flies came to die on my boat. I don't know if they die on contact with Vertglas coating or what but it was absolutely crazy! They washed right off the boat in 5 minutes, but I am very confused as to what in the world is going on. Further, what am I going to find next Saturday when I get back to the boat! How many dead Mayflies does it take to sink a
?
Seroiusly, does anybody know what in the world is going on here?
