Emergency tailights

Post by Kelly Hanson East »

I just picked up two magnetic attached 3xAA battery powered LED tailights from Lowes for 16 USD (1/2 price special)

Ill confess sometimes in the late afternoon I have had light trouble at the ramp, and Im awfully tired to start messing with lights on the trailer before a 3 hour drive home.

I figure this will at least light the back of my trailer at night in case of a failure like this, and also keep the cops at bay too..

Trailer lights out at night are obvioulsy a red flag for getting pulled over here in NY and MA.

They don't care about turn and brake lights? :? Obviously what you bought is better than nothing, but when that cop sees you take the off ramp, your chances of getting pulled over are still high. OSISTM

Welcome to the Northeast, where no one uses neither their brakes nor their signal lights...if the cops pulled everyone over who did this, crime would be rampant....

I don't think is a bad idea at all. If a cop was behind you while driving on a interstate at night they may not even notice anything wrong. your not turning or breaking much there anyway. But I think the ticket is not the issue here. Its being run over because you had no lights.

Exactly. I once had my lights go intermittant on the Mass Pike in driving rain, with nowhere to pull off for a good 30 miles....i sure wasnt going to pull onto the shoulder of I90 and try to fix them without a huge buffer between me and traffic, but driving parts without lights wasnt exactly a good feeling either..
