Changing the Black Strip to Blue or Green

Hi.
I was thinking about full enclosures, sail covers, and the like, which started me thinking about colors. Would it be feasible to change the color of the accent strips to blue, or green, or whatever? Maybe a strip kit over the hull strip, and paint the black on the deck?
Any thoughts, or has anyone seen something like this?

If you have Photoshop (or some other program), you could experiment with different colors to see which works for you. As for actually doing this change on the boat, others have repainted the black windows and striping, so using a different color should be no less difficult.

I think I saw a yellow Mac someplace once.
Sure you can paint fiberglass. Ever see a Corvette?
But remember that black stripe there now is not paint. Once you paint it, a scratch might reveal what's underneath.

The yellow Mac used to be featured on the homepage of the North East Trailer Sailors. It isn't there now (the picture, I don't know about the boat).

on edit: or maybe it still is there - site now says "Image not fully loaded yet, please be patient..." where the pictures used to be. It's been like that for several minutes - a long time to be patient...They must be sailors

Highlander,
Thanks for the work. Pretty sweet! I wonder if a sticker to cover the black hull strip, would last long enough to make it worth while, then I could paint the deck.
Hard to decide between the yachty blue, and the yachty green.
Very Cool,

Probably.
I redid the waterline on my runabout with some stick on vinyl tape. It worked great. I still have a large roll of it if you want to do red. Try
here.

I wouldn't use just any tape. 3M makes a wide range of automotive tape that is made for outdoor applications... might want to see what's there that will do the job for you. It's gonna be a lot cheaper than painting, and it's reversible if you don't like it (or the next potential owner doesn't!).

This photo of another member's boat has been shown before, but since the thread is about re-painting the black stripe, it's pertinent.
I would rather have this all-white scheme, with the windows showing against the hull. The boat looks more Euro-style, and would be easier for maintenance as well, with no black gelcoat to show chalky.

Saw this 26M at San Juan Marina while at a boat show .
They left the very faded black strips. It did not look like paint more like a sticker.

I agree, I think I like the removal of the black stripping better. It does look more Euro-styled. White sail cover finishes it well.
This is sorta nice also. Well if they didn't have a beer bottle on the hull it would. I like the color hull.
