Tuesday night won't be forgotten so soon...

I parked the car and trailer with boat in front of a friend home at 20 h.

At 23h after a nice dinner I was going to the car and "BIG SURPRISE".

An empty space on his place...

I run to the police (GNR - Portuguese National Guard) they put up an national warning.

In 5 hours they recovered car and boat almost intact 200 km away hidden in a small vilage .



5 long hours for me...

Sorry to hear about your boat getting stolen...then very happy to hear it was recovered. Hopefully no damage.

But look on the bright side...if it had been a Blue hulled Mac it would have taken 5 days rather than 5 hours for the police to find it...

"Almost intact" What happened to it? Did it get banged around? I know after seeing all your woodwork, that if I would have seen you boat out unattended, I would have stolen it too and replaced it with mine.

Glad to hear of the recovery , that would have been a very bad ending to your yr , I've often thought about buying one of these gps tracker chips that you can install in your car or boat for about 100-200$ , I know I read about alot of big boat theft's from Florida Marina's last yr !! , my vehicles are old 2002, 1996 ford ranger trk so I'd use one for my boat ,now you've got me thinking maybe it would not be a bad investment
in the one photo it looks like your boat has no eng. was it stolen off the boat !!

John, it looks like the police tape goes back to a tilted up engine. I'd bet the 'almost intact' part refers to the truck being broken into...

Very lucky indeed...

The only damage was on the truck door lock...

And a few items are missing from the car interior (Documents, Car GPS, Radio...)

The trailer as a small problem on the small front wheel

The boat is intact.

That I want to do to stay under the radar is still a big truck pulling a boat. Please tell me that not only did you retrieve you truck and boat back but they authorities caught the thieves to. Who should be given a Darwin award.
