Thanks, Rich, for sending me an email about this thread to (see email below/Mods) . I am back up after being knocked down by a nasty cold bug two days ago and found your message sent a couple of hours ago; wish I had the Mac ballast!

Every order I receive is shipped within two days of receipt, including custom made PAL International orders. All orders are sent either first class mail or first class international mail. Any request for a replacement disc (one was for a lost disc in the two disc set before they were packaged in a single two disc case) is sent at no charge for the DVD or postage. My prices include shipping and handling, no tax, and are the same on all websites, including this one.

Speedy Rigger Sailing And Video has been a paying advertiser on this site since December, 2000, approaching a ten year anniversary. As a MacGregor owner and sailor for life, I am pleased to be a member of this community and have continued to offer the DVDs after introduction of the 26M because I have found that the boats rig and sail the same, even using the same bolts and nylocks, adjusters, clevis pins, etc with minor changes such as main sheet attachment point and larger spreaders, no backstay, etc. The idea though, is to use a procedure that avoids tracking back and forth on the boat and save time at the ramp. For example, I don't even open my hatch until the mast is up in the video, and that is to retrieve the boom for installation to the mast.

It is noted the videos are homemade with poor transitions (editing). This is due to them being filmed with a video 8 camcorder and converted to VHS via dubbing. So they are not professional quality like I may be able to produce with today's equipment. Yep, before DVDs were popular, we all had VHS players. Today they are furnished as either a tape or a DVD.

Regarding this thread and shipment of orders, let me be specific: Anyone who has placed an order and not received it may forward me their receipt with shipping address to the email below and I will send the order on Monday, first class mail. The gap is in the time ordered here and the time I receive the order via email for processing, see below.

1) BADDOG - see above paragraph- I have not been forwarded your order from this site to date.
2) Dave "Campcook" Your order date was October 14th. I received your order on November 2nd at night and shipped it on the 4th. I have no
public phone number, so all of your phone calls and emails were directly to this site.
3) Hector "elvatoli" I have not been forwarded your order to date; see paragraph above.

Thanks guys, and write anytime with questions or feedback directly to Jeff (at) speedyrigger (dot) com

There you go folks, check with the source. Thanks Jeff for a Speedy reply. I will now check with Heath (owner of this forum) to see if there is a problem with order forwarding from here.

Jeff,
Just to clarify. Obviously, I did get the video. My invoice is dated 13 October. Actually received on 6 November as that is the day my records show I sent a followup "thank you" e-mail. The phone call I made was on or about two weeks after the order was placed. Sorry, I was getting impatient. At this point, I don't recall where I got the phone number from but, whoever answered the phone was very familiar with the video and said he would check on the order in the morning and email me back. (There were some kid's noise in the background.) Never heard anything back until the video arrived on the 6th. I did send another email requesting information on 1 November as well as the thank you on the 6th. My emails went to "[email protected]" whoever that is. Never received any replies at all.

As Rich said, seems like there is something slow in the order forwarding process. Sort of sad when an (electronic) order forwarding process takes weeks and the US postal service takes 48 hours. In this day and age of ebay, amazon, west marine, and all of the other internet ordering, things seem to happen really fast and we have come to expect it. That is why I got impatient after a couple of weeks. That and I really wanted to see the video.

Having said all that, the video is well worth the effort and cost to acquire -- at least to me -- a newbie to the MacGregor. It has a good information balance between introductory stuff and hints for those more experienced.

Thanks Jeff.
Dave

Hi Guys,

I apologize for the delays in processing any orders. I process all orders myself when they come in to the website, so if I am unavailable due to work, travel, or family concerns, there may be a delay in processing. I run this website as a hobby and as a service to MacGregor owners and enthusiasts in my spare time, so there is no way that I can compete with the level of service offered by Amazon, West Marine, etc. I try to process orders as quickly as I can, but sometimes I just can't help some delays. Such was the case last month when I had everything piling on me at once and I just couldn't keep up with it all. I recently did catch up on all the delayed orders, and I sent an email to each person apologizing.

If somebody phones or emails asking about an order I will make sure that it is processed and that there are no problems, and I will usually send them an email. I know that sometimes emails can get missed because they accidentally are deleted, sent to a SPAM folder, etc. However it is rare for me to call somebody back about an order as I am usually processing orders at 1:00 or 2:00 am after getting the kids to bed, dog walked, house in order for the night, etc. Although I understand the frustration of the poster who was upset at not finding any response from me, I expect he might be more upset if I called at 2:00 am! :-)

Thank you Jeff and Rich for taking the time to respond to this thread. I really appreciate all the support from the long-time members of this board and the moderators who help things running on the board day-to-day.

Happy Holidays!

Heath

Folks,

Got my DVDs a few days ago, and I just ordered a 2011 26M for an April 2011 delivery (my request) after watching said DVDs. Thanks for helping me make that choice!
