I am new to the forum. I just bought what I believe is a 25 swing keel. It was sold as a 24, but has two windows on each side...
It needs a good bit of work to be put back to its original state. I am looking for an expert that can walk me through the process by phone/email video. I will be glad to post progress so that others may benefit. Anyone willing to volunteer can contact me at XXXXXXXXXXXX. I will need some help with rigging repairs, assessing condition of the keel, wiring, etc.
I look forward to being part of the forum as I learn to maintain and repair this cool old boat.

Posting of email addys is not good. Folks can PM you much easier. Also, your email seems a bit suspicious of a URL.

Chekc out the book : "Fix It and Sail: Everything You Need to Know to Buy and Retore a Small Sailboat on a Shoestring ". It is the process of restoring a Venture 222 bought for $400 that needed a total overhaul. At Amazon for $14, though I read it through my county library.

That black mold, is that the black speckles all over the deck?

I get it ever year over the winter, not much I can do to stop it. HOWEVER, to get rid of it.... I found a bit of soap and a bit of bleach in a squirt bottle aimed at the offending areas, with a tiny bit of elbow grease works well.

What part of the country oare you in. I'm a transplant for the pacific coast to Nevada and am now a desert rat. My blue blazer is now tan due to effects of sunlight. 8)
Would be happy to give advice when needed. Just tell me what needs fixin'. Fair winds and full sails...

I too sail an M25 which was in pretty crappy condition when bought. There's not much you can't do to 'em and you can sail for the rest of your life.
The best advice I can give is don't spend a year making it perfect. Sail sooner, improve the boat later. Easier on the budget, too. Glad to help if I can.
