Hello, I am a very new sailor, as in 3 times on the water now, I live in central Texas and most of my sailing will be on inland lakes. I purchased a V 24, 1973, and it needs some love, but more so I have no idea how to raise the main mast. Where to attach the stays, how they attach. I have looked several places on the internet, but no luck any one can help, or give advise on how to raise the main mast.

Raising the mast on a V24 is not a one-man operation...Unless you're a gorilla! There is a mast raising kit, which you might have and not recognize. There are many posts here, and in the 26X forum on mast raising. Take a few minutes to learn the layout of this site, and find the archives. There's mucho info there. Good luck with the boat. Take a few sailing lessons. I had a V224 (pop-top) and loved it. Great stable boat, and verrrrrrry forgiving.

http://www.ne-ts.com/mac/203mac.html
on the bar 17 thru 25 information bar there is copies of the papers that came with the boats that discus rigging. Just as few drawings but read through them and layout your parts and it will make since. I have my 222 rigged in the driveway right now if you need some photos let me know and i will text or email some to you. Where in Central Texas are you?
