My missus would completely spit the dummy if I even approached something like that with her and the kids in the boat LOL

Bad choice...possibly.
But that was pretty cool.

Just more fodder for the "Mac Bashers". But, let them try that in one of their boats.

Dude must be spinning a big prop to cut through that sort of current. Wonder what motor he has hanging off the back of that
Tried to freeze-frame and magnify the engine, but could not figure it out. Seems to be a small one with a deep deep voice

The commentators showed their ignorance pretty well. That skipper had done that before - the timing and path he chose were perfect..notice how we lined the boat up in a slack pool, then hammered the throttle to get the speed up to enter the rough part with the bow up on semi-plane....good powerboating skills...
Not my cup of tea though...if the engine burps, it wouldnt be too much fun...

On the one hand, kinda cool....
OTOH...
There are old sailors
There are bold sailors
There are
NO "old, bold" sailors.

I owe that guy a beer. This video is going to help me convince the Admiral that we need the Etec 90.

I agree with Bob does not look like his first time...
I went on the "CLAW" last year with my niece....don't think I would do that again either....must be getting older?... or wiser...

That's an ETEC-60. Not sure a blue hull would have made it...

Wouldn't he have been better off with both rudders down for better contol? Was the plan to lower a spare if he broached and broke the first?
Maybe the engine couldn't develop enough thrust with the extra drag! Throwing the kids overboard, to lighten ship, could at least save the boat.....
What a MAROON!
