Carpeted Cielings On My Mac 25

Was carpet factory on the ceilings?

Needless to say, after 28 years lots of stuff has moved into that carpet that I would like to see move out. Mildew is pretty evident.

Should I remove and paint? Problem is lots of hardware is bolted down through that carpet making removal not a quick easy job.

I have an industrial ozone machine that would I'll all the mold.

Maybe a shampooer with a hand attachment?

I don't have any mildew on mine yet, so let me know if you have a solution for it so I can store that away for the future. You are right about the challenge of removing the carpeting with all of the through deck fittings. I've not found it to be unattractive, though.

Our 1984 appears to have the original beige carpet headliner running from the companionway just to the fore of the Head. Nothing on the V-berth ceiling but white paint. No mildew in the carpet though, luckily. Definitely sounds like you need to re-bed the fittings that run through it.
What I am dealing with is some kind of spotty, brown, sticky substance that seeps through my attempts to repaint the V-berth ceiling with white paint. Any idea what that might be? Maybe I'm using the wrong paint? I'm thinking of using BIN sealer and then trying again.
Anyhow, Cheers to the Mac25. A graceful lady that has allowed my family to enter the realm of the "sailing set". We love our "Loch & Quay" (...we slip it in the early morning shadows of Kingston Penitentiary...one reason for the name!). Cheers.

My wife wants to paint KILLS over the upper half of the interior of the boat anywhere there is not a carpet. The places where the fiberglass is not finished looking, and is ruff.

One major advantage I see in the X over my Mac 25 is there is no wood or carpet in X. Even in the M, I see lots of carpet,

Advantage X in being able to clean the inside with a garden hose.

And that's one thing I would like if I ever step up to a 26.
