Gippsland Lakes over Christmas?

Post by Berber Boy »

I will be down at Paynesville from 15th to 27th December. Hope the weather improves. Anyone else going to be there during that time?

Our boat was going to be there but the yard doesn't have enough room so it may just stay here and we will use it again this year :D

Yeah would love to go to the Hawksbury, had it planned a few years ago but the weather turned bad and decided to keep heading North but looked great.

We still work so going far afield requires planning....so hopefully the weather will be kind....although current patterns seem to indicate changeable conditions at least

The Hawkesbury River was a very pleasant experience...12 days 1 jan on...launched from Brooklyn and set about not exerting ourselves too much and pretty much succeeded. The tidal flow dictates when and where you go above the Mooney bridges (10.8metres so mast down)We went passed the Colo river up stream...lots of waterskiers even mid week.A lot quieter down past Wisemans ferry...all around a very nice time and some good down wind genoa sailing back to Spencer...very fluckey but still fun
