We bought nets but did not install them. Our situation warrented a more secure solution...our daughter has autism and she would just climb the netting!
While researching the netting it looked really simple to put in by attaching at top and bottom of life lines.
We still have the unused netting to sell if you are interested.

I bought some net fabric to contain the dog, but it was a mess. I tossed it. One problem w/the net from West Marine - it's made for the big boats. The width is planned for a lifeline that is much taller than a Mac, so you'll need to double it or cut it. Either way, it ends up a mess, IMO.

I've had netting for 4 years and it works good. I secured the top to the rails with those plastic ties and cut the excess off. The lowerend I got some of that plastic covered cloths line and secured that to the lower postsafter running it thru the netting. I also keep a life line on him at all times so there is no chance that he can go overboard.
