Yea, i'm planning to attend too, if it is still on. Vacation is in the books, and crew is lined up as well. Last year was a blast.
If not, Windezvous will be going somewhere, guess we'll have a plan B just in case. Maybe Jekyll Island to Cumberland, or even a Gulf coast trip.

Greetings,
I apologize for not being more pro-active this year in regards to the JMGT 2012. I have been traveling for my job for the past 9 months and have been horrible about returning emails, maintaining contacts and staying in touch in general.
I will make contact with the other local captains and begin to post information as it becomes available. We had a preliminary planning meeting several months ago and several interesting ideas were presented.
If anyone has specific questions please feel feel to PM me and I will do my best to answer them.
Until then, I am currently staying about an hour north of Tampa, in a town called Hudson, Fl. The sailing down here is phenomenal and I am underway as often as my schedule permits. I have seen several other Macs in the area and would love to set up a group sail sometime before I leave (August 15th).

No entry fees. No official registration.
Here is my web page from last year's JMGT which gives a summary of what we did with pics and videos:
JMGT 2011
Unfortunately if the event is held over Labor Day Weekend again as it has been the last three years I will be unable to attend...
Cheers,
Jim

I personally don't think St. Auggie to Cumberland is too far but I have a much more liberal work schedule than most. Unless crews wanted to motor a significant portion of the trip I think that might be pushing it a little too far. I only have a 30hp pushing me so my max is 8-10 kts depending on current. Most crews prefer to sail as much as possible but I would be willing to consider an extended JMGT if anyone was interested, possibly adding a few days on the front or back half of the weekend.
If there are any lurkers out there who are considering joining the event please PM me your email addy and I will add you to our roster.

So, what's the word? Is this trip gonna happen this year? We're less than a month out and still no solid news. I'd like to attend again, but I need to know what the schedule and route will look like pretty soon. Otherwise I'm not going to be able to get off work. Thanks

The 2012 JaxMac is on! Also known as
JMGT (Jacksonville MacGregor Get Together)
Here's the plan:
Friday August 31st - Launch at Sisters Creek boat ramp now called -
Jim King Park Boat Ramp at Sisters Creek. Beach & BBQ Friday night at Fort George.
Saturday September 1st - Decision over breakfast based on weather, Sail offshore or down the ICW to
St.Augustine Municipal Marina and Dinner at the
Santa Maria restaurant.
Sunday September 2nd - Layover in St. Augustine. There is a ton of things to do from the
historic fort to
winery tour and tons of shopping. If none of that appeals day sailing on the ocean is only 10 minutes away out the st.Augustine inlet.
Monday September 3rd - based on weather sail offshore or up the ICW back to Sisters Creek and out or optionally up the St.Johns river to downtown Jacksonville's
free docks and dinner at the
landing.
Please post here and PM me with your contact information ASAP if you are planing on attending. The Marina in St.Augustine has room for 10 boats at this point but that could change rapidly and I need a head count as soon as possible.
Hope to see you in Jacksonville for this year's get together!

I want to say YES however, I am a new mac owner and the Boat has not been launched for the first time yet - I have a lot Experience with smaller craft but this is a new world to me and my crew but I think this would do a world of good for us. compare rigs and see some do's and don'ts
