Color of Boat Name

Hi guys,

Thank you for all your good information on the boat. I bought a new 26M. I get it next week, supposedly on Monday or Tuesday.

So, with that, what about color coordination on the boat name?

The boat is white, with black stripes, black bimini, black roller-furling mains'l strip...

But I keep thinking the boat name at the quarters could be a royal blue.

What do you think? Should it also be black, aesthetically?

Thank you

It's really up to you. I'd go with black (in fact I did go with black). :P

Ya I'd go with black as well. It'd be like wearing blue socks with a tux…kinda off.

Yeah I would do black as well. I have a blue main sail cover that just looks funny to me, I will be changing that to black when I can.
Plus anything blue you put on there will slow you down. ;-)

What's wrong with blue socks and a black tux ? :D
Ok, I'd go with black, or better stainless steel self adhesive letters :

The person making your graphics should be able to show you what the name grahics look like against the color scheme of your boat.

What's the name going to be? That might influence colors.

Here's a thread about names

Ok. So my 26M is white, black striping. I'm hearing use black lettering?

I know the blue would stand out. But I like it

What about blue lettering with a black shadow. And then later I could add another thing or two with a hint of blue also.

Maybe I'm wrong? But maybe it would give the boat a little something

I think it sounds good. Personally I like some color on a white hull and blue accents black nicely. The black shadow would be my pic.

I also have a white M with black Bimini and black stripes, but I also have a black sail cover and custom black seat & back cushions. As a designer, I chose a deep maroon for the name. Black and reds are a natural.

Jen...you are asking for colour advice from a bunch of guys who put ice in wine..

Go with blue letters if it floats your boat.....

I have never put ice in wine. In fact, I don't even like wine. Now when the beer is warm.....

Id say do it whatever colour tickles your fancy :)
Mines Royal blue on a White boat (black jib sock, Bimini, helm, and main covers) and I'm happy enough with it.
