Hello all,

My 26M had name stickers applied to it from the P.O. for a few years. The hull has apparently yellowed very slightly as the sticker covered area is whiter than the rest of the boat. So far, I haven't found a way to remove the slight color difference. Has anyone here tried this gelcoat restore product from cleanaboat?

Interesting video.

I am not familiar with the product, but would be interested in hearing from the manufacturer as to how long the application lasts. All whites yellow over time.

Might it make more sense to just apply your own decal over the area which the previous owner had placed their decal?

only a 4 step process? I am pretty sure any quality products could get those results in 4 steps LOL my problem is the glue from the old decals is the yellow part it seems to have stained my hull - The rest of my hull is a nice White. I sanded with 800 and polished with medium cut and eventually got a tiny spot of burn through and said to myself (Its fine) so there is a little Shadow only if you look at it just so and stare for long can you even notice. So I left it alone and put my new decals on and I love it over time it has faded even more. If anything I feel like a A$$ for worrying about it in the first place and burning off the gel coat I had.

Seriously though, it might work.

I use Slimy Grimy to remove the green pond scum growth from the bottom of Nice Aft every year before I re-slip her. That means that the green stuff dries on the bottom for six months. I tell people how quick it works, and some find it hard to believe,but it does work for me that well. http://s107.photobucket.com/user/amigam ... 1.mp4.html With a second coat, all I need to do is sponge mop off any green scum residue.

The video shown for this de-yellowing product that Aaron found is not in real time, but it may just work. I just don't think it's worth the time and effort, but that's my felling. Aaron may not want a decal over that area. In that case, sometime in the future he just may be reporting back here with his own video and review of the product.

Well my point was dont let vanity damage your hull if you go to far you cant go back and it was well intended. Sorry if I blathered it in my usual grizzled salty way its the barnacles on my brain. LOL
