Forward hatch replacement knob

Hello all,

My forward hatch plastic knob cracked off last year and I just got around to finding a replacement. I found that BWY had a replacement kit for the entire assembly for about $15.00, but I only needed the plastic knob part as I still had the tapered bolt. I found a suitable replacement from Grainger for $1.53.

I can't figure out how to post the pic, but the website is http://www.grainger.com and the part number is 3GEU8.

I put the bolt through the knob and added a washer and self locking nut to hold it together.

I hope this helps if anyone needs a replacement.

Take care,

Aaron

I totally replaced the thing with something stronger. The admiral couldn't figure out how to work the original. Also added an adjustable arm.

Good to know there is a source for the knob though.

I found a bomar hatch replacement knob at west. It came on a threaded stud the same size as the one from my hatch knob. I fudged the two together using a rigging sleeve and the crimper my west outlet has by the rigging supplies. Works great and the bomar knob is better by far then the oem one. I do think that it cost more than the one from blue water though.

Ugh. I hate the forward hatch dog. Takes 5 minutes of unscrewing for the bolt to clear the hatch edge enough to open close the hatch.
