Can anyone provide a link to an electronic copy of the Owners Manual for a 26X?
I have searched through the 100 or so hits on "owners manual" but can't seem to find a link for the X (We will be looking at the '05 M but are leaning towards buying a recent vintage X. Thus, I'm reluctant to contact the factory as I don't know yet what model year it would be).
The closest links I have found are;
"PDF Copy of 26M Owners Instructions Now Available"
http://macgregorsailors.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1427
"26M Owner's Manual"
http://macgregorsailors.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1405
And a reference to a link for the 26S
http://www.macgregor-boats.com/sailframes.html
But no X.

craiglaforce... thanks for the wayback reference (I often forget about those). But, the archived MacGregor web sites don't appear to offer the manual either. Was it ever available as a download from their site?
Don T....Thanks for the offer. I sent a PM with my email address.

Found a copy
here - not a great copy, but a copy all the same.
Don, is this any better than yours? Cause this one looks like mine (and looks pretty bad).

Sorry, I misread the question. Thought you were looking for the glossy brochure. THe wayback machine is pretty limited I think in what it finds.

I've downloaded this copy too. It's a poor copy at best. Does anyone have a clearer copy?

Hello:
Yeah, it looks like the same one with the Havencraft stamp on the first page. I didn't get one with my boat (95) cuz they didn't exist at the time. If I had one I'd be happy to scan it in.

Thanks, Don T.
Since the students are gone for Easter break next week, I'll take mine into work and scan it, if it will help anyone. It's whatever came with a 2002 though.
[on edit] I just looked through Don T's and it looks like the same late model manual I have. But I'll go ahead and scan mine at higher-resolution for those who can afford the bandwidth, if anyone wants it.

Just to reiterate that the Don T and kmclemore files do appear to be the same (Havencraft stamp). So Moe, yes if you could scan and post a higher res version, that would be helpful.
Just a suggestion to the moderator(s... is that just you Heath?), it might be helpful to create a sticky thread as a FAQ that contains helpful links (such as to the MacGregor web site etc.) and other sources of information (like a copies of the manuals, the X changes through the years, the differences between the X and the M, etc. etc.).
Thanks to all for a great forum!
Thanks to Moe!

I could use a copy, too. I have a 2002 and can't find the manual anywhere. Thanks for your efforts and helpfulness. Tom

Okay... the scanning's done... at 150 dpi, it came out to 62MB of data, but when I saved it as PDF, even with the highest quality setting, it shrank to 31MB, and I'm disappointed with the resolution compared to the original scans. Wish now that I'd saved 'em as bitmaps and built the PDF file from them. Oh well... live and learn... it's better than what's out there, and printed okay on the laser printer.
At any rate,
please wait until after 5:00PM EST to download it, and don't even try it with a dial-up. I'll leave it here for a couple of days.
