Hello everyone on this forum from New Mexico USA. My wife Lisa and I are the proud new owners of a M26 and are preparing for our first voyage on a nearby lake.
I wanted to say thankyou to all the past and present posters. What a wealth of information available here!
Particularly the up close pictures of mounts, fixtures etc. have set my "what if" ideas in motion. Those I find invaluable.
First order of business was to order the Bimini from BWY. I really want/need the shade but also learned that you can piece it forward to eventually be a full enclosure. In order to do that I need the Bimini with the zippers. Otherwise the boat was well cared for and lake ready. Definitely not ocean ready but neither are we.......yet

Welcome to the forum.
There are some people here who say the new guy buys the pizza, but if you are in New Mexico, we will settle for Sopapillas

I prefer the Indian fry bread made by that lady on the Laguna Indian reservation if we get a choice here.
We go back and forth on the 40 at least 2 or 3 times a year and try to stay in Santa Fe at least once a year and we like to hang out on the 14 near Madrid, but we have never towed 'boat' through that part of the US. You guys are gonna have fun.

Welcome aboard from Central Florida. Haven't gotten the X out your way, but did take our inflatable on a camping trip to Lake Powell and had a blast. You have some beautiful places to sail. I wish you well.

My hunch is you're gonna love it there. I camped at the
State Park there in Elephant Butte about 30 years ago while on a Texas-to-California Ghost Towns camping tour, and almost didn't want to leave. As it was, I stayed several days longer than planned. Overwhelmingly gorgeous "Alien Vacation World" surroundings aside (Man, that water's
BLUER THAN "EARTH" BLUE!), the facilities were gleaming and immaculate and sparkling stainless steel. They might have been brand new then, but it was a far cry from some of those ramshackle West Texas joints which were almost all like some of those campgrounds shown in that movie they made of
Grapes of Wrath, where you felt like you might need a tetanus shot and some industrial strength fungicide after a shower. Nope. No showering with the turkey buzzards at Elephant Butte
! Brilliant spot to have a Mac.

Herschel. I am speechless picturing you rowing around Lake Powell in that rubber raft. Must have been quite the workout!
