Has anyone changed the base plate on a Mac 26 that rotates to a non rotating mast. If so, how was it done

Why don't you want it to rotate :?:
May be easier to limit the rotation instead by cleating it off the bottom of the boom near the boom vang using a mast rotation spanner. Not sure if the M has one.

Using halyards aft towards cockpit causes the mast to rotate to port when using it.

How does this affect sailing? Also Terry in BC has a slick setup for rotating his last when it doesn't cooperate (check mods or posts for pics, pretty sure there's a few on here) I just give the boom a quick shake after a tack.

My mast turns in the same way with halyards lead to cockpit bevore and after the mod.

Means in light winds no rotation, in a good brease normal rotation.

Sounds like the routing of the halyard may be too far aft? Could also try upgrading the mast bearings to help a smooth rotation

My halyard is next to the mast. Never had a problem with it pulling the rotation to port.

Same here Russ with no issues. It can get a little sticky through a tack in light winds but usually shakes itself out within a min or I do it manually from the cockpit.
