Hi everybody
I live in Italy and I own a mcgregor 27m 2005, it's got the original fuel tank which fits perfectly in the cockpit under the seats, but the rubber gasket has decided to surrend to its age and there is an unpleasant fuel leak .
My trouble is i can't find where to buy a new gasket in this country, could anybody kindly suggest me the adress of the fuel tank firm or where such spare part could be find? Iìm posting the pic of the Gasket.

You should be able to use cork gasket material. If you have some type of automotive store in your area they should carry it in a small sheet, and be inexpensive. Natural cork has been used for years in fuel systems such as fuel pumps, and carburetors. Be careful to cut it cleanly or little bits of material could clog your fuel filter.

I would guess he could also buy a small piece of synthetic gasket material and cut a new one, as it's likely only a ring of flat material.

But cork certainly is the old standard, going back as far as I can remember, which at this point is pretty darned far. Engine gas tank caps, portable fuel tank caps, some carburetor parts. Fuel filter bowls.

I renewed my tank gaskets last year with 2mm Neoprene, it has proved to be a nice cheap solution that works well

For my own edification, where did you source that neoprene sheeting? Auto parts store maybe?

Google is your friend, just google neoprene sheet in your area, thats how I find all sorts of stuff.

Of course you have to sort the chaff from the hay, but you can find almost anything with some work.
