Bight
Ditty Bag
Gollywobbler
Vang

See the trouble I'm having.

Not wanting to offend a beloved board member, but Salty Dog is a standard. We just got a retreiver and named her "Molly" for short, but her full name is "the unsinkable Molly Boren" Boren being our last name and making a cheap play off the the unsinkable Molly brown as in the titanic fame. :D

Hmmm...

"Panama Chuck" a play on panama chock.

"Bullnose"

"Boot-top"

"Three Sheets" (to the wind)

More nautical names could be from famous passages/people like:

"Gibraltar"

"Magellan"

"Columbus"

"Hudson"

"Serapis" - the British ship John Paul Jones defeated after he said "I have not yet begun to fight!"

"Bon Homme Richard" - the ship John Paul Jones was on when he engaged Serapis

"Jonah"

"Davy (Jones)"

Ours is named Saylor - but other folks turn around when I'm calling him. He love's the whole sailing scene. A bit large for a boat dog though. I should have had a clue last year when I saw those big puppy feet.
