Our Mac board member in Puerto Rico.

Post by NiceAft » Tue Jan 07, 2020 5:44 am

I just had a text from Jaime Alonzo. Jaime lives in PR. He and his family were awakened at 4:30 AM, but they are fine. His house shook pretty well, and the electricity is out, but no damage to their home.

Jaime is a long time member of this board. He and his brother David do a yearly crossing from PR to British V.I., and have posted their trips here.

Prayers for Puerto Rico. This looks like a bad earthquake.

Geology 101. On the news this AM Puerto Rico sits between two fault lines. Did not know that. Pleased to hear Jimmy A. and family is safe and sound.

Some of his relatives live on my street - If I see them I will ask about Jimmy.

I went to the house but there was no one home - but all the cars and stuff look different so I think they may have moved. I knew some of them were living in a different place in oceanside before - I'm pretty sure Jimmy posted today that they got power.

Just received a call from Jaime Alonzo in Puerto Rico; all is well. They have been getting after shocks, but they are doing well.

Jaime is quite cool headed. If he gets nervous, it’s time to run, quickly :D .
