Trip report - Mandurah December 2020
We managed to get Eureka in the water over new years.
I wrote a quick blog on the trip - a short cruise around Mandurah which is about 70km south of Perth, Western Australia - in case it's of interest to anyone.

Cheers,
Richard

Re: Trip report - Mandurah December 2020
Thanks for posting, Richard. I really enjoyed your pics and narrative. The stern support/lift you constructed was quite interesting as well.
Looks like the whole crew had a good time, even though everything didn't go strictly according to plan.
Well done!

Jimmy,
When I open the post by nelius, I get a warning of a dangerous site, do not open. I get this warning on both my iPhone and LG laptop.

Interesting Ray. Thanks for the warning. I had already read his trip blog and looked at some of his repair entries...
I checked the link with google safe browsing and it showed as safe, but said the info was last updated Dec 13, 2020...
Did you get a warning at the link, or after you got into his blog?

Hi Ray,
I would suggest that your systems have got some data skewed there.
It's a sub-site of my business site, hosted by my son's web development company and currently running on a Vultr VPS (Australia).
Never had anyone report warnings or issues before.
Cheers,
Richard

I hope by no means you take my posting personally. Two different platforms send me warnings, so I made Jimmy aware.
I will research to find out why, to Norton, you look so suspicious

I see a dive platform around your outboard in your day 2 pictures. Do you have any more information about that?

Re: Trip report - Mandurah December 2020
Ray,
I understand - not a good situation. Never click on a link you are not comfortable with.
For what it's worth, my son did a complete site evaluation and scan last night - it's up to date and squeaky clean.
One thing I thought of, make sure you are using the correct URL, remember that this forum shortens the URL to display the link and if you tried to use the displayed text as a link it would not work, and would possibly throw up some warnings. Hovering over the link should display the full URL in the status bar. Apologies if you are already aware of this.
Jeff,
I say a bit about the swim platform in the Day 4 blog of our Shark Bay cruise. It's on the same site - just go to the "cruises" page, and then to the Shark Bay July 2020 page, and choose the Day 4 article.
It was on the boat when we purchased it April last year - I think it was installed pre-delivery by the local dealer back in 2007 as part of a "package" that included clear access hatches in the cockpit for more light and air in the rear berth, an "emergency" steering arm - with Raymarine tiller pilot, and the swim platform. We love it.
HTH,
Richard

I got the same warning from my Norton 360. Checked the site with my Android tablet - No problems.

Does anybody know where you could buy this platform ready to mount?neleus wrote: ↑Mon Jan 18, 2021 9:54 pm

The weight (estimation) is 20kg (44lbs).
It has a stainless tubular frame top and bottom and is attached/hinged on the motor tilt tube.

Here is one on another boat similarly equipped (in Western Australia):

Re: Trip report - Mandurah December 2020
This is the best swim platform I've seen for a MacGregor. These pictures are REALLY helpful.
Thanks...Jeff
