26X shroud and backstay tension

I measured my uppers and they were both 33.
My lowers were 8 and tightened to 14.

My backstay was less than zero and tightening with my weight of 170lbs brought it to 0

That's the gauge I used

We used this guage and my shrouds are 1/8 so the above measurements would correlate to
Uppers ~33= 320lbs
Lowers~14=120lbs ish
Backstay ~0=0ish lbs I suppose when at the dock? Diff when downwind?

Am I in the right neighborhood?

The backstay does not do anything unless you are running (wind behind you). It is not unusual for it to be slack at other times.

Sounds like you could still tighten it up a bit. Here's a good thread on rigging

seems to be a pretty useful thread. thanks! im gonna keep working on it and post updates. Ill say with my above numbers the boat felt a little "smoother" going on tacks in 20mph wind today. Seems my inner shrouds could still be tightened up a touch. :macx:

Sounds like you are starting to get the tension dialed-in for your boat. At 20mph I've found that the :macx: is happier with at least a single reef. I go faster and things stop falling off other things. :)
