Port/starboard rear light?

Post by dlandersson »

I lost my aft port/starboard light cover today. Anyone know who sells these? The pic is of the bow light cover.

I know you are looking for a cover for the aft light, but are you showing red/green to the rear? As I understand it you should be showing white. It would be confusing for following vessels as it would appear that you are heading towards them on the incorrect side of the channel.,

Sorry, you indicated that your aft light was port/starboard, I read that to mean it was showing port and starboard to the rear. My bad.

That looks like the Aqua Signal Series 20 bow light with the cover removed. If so, it was the OEM equipment.

The bad news is, they don't make the deck mount stern light any more, and I couldn't find a replacement lens for it. So I tossed both of them and put new Perko bow bicolor and stern white deck mount lights on instead. Muuuuuch brighter without the badly yellowed lenses.

Stern light (bicolor looks the same, but with a larger horizontal arc):

+1 on the replacement. The OEM light is not worth trying to salvage. Get a new one that can actually be seen.

What if I don't want to be seen? Ever see "The Jackal" with Bruce WIllis? :)

With the OEM you have the choice of not being seen with the light on or not being seen with the light off. :D

Never seen The Jackal but the cast looks good. I think I'll check it out.

Hi Diandersson!

We think we found what you are looking for (or a close alternative.
It looks like a near match for the OEM deck surface mount Stern light.

Hope this helps. :) :)
