True but as long as that sail is still on the deck the leach flapping away it,s taking a beating , but better than Havin to worry about MOB !

The down haul runs through a rope clutch and does a pretty good job of holding it down. I pull the jib sheets back to where the clew is pointing directly at the mast base and lock them down. That cuts out most of the flogging.

You might want to check out my mod that uses the trailer winch to raise/lower the mast. Keeps your feet on terra firma and yourself out of harms way.
