Speed under power Check

Post by Ixneigh »

I got 12.5 knots wot on flat water today.
Towing dinghy
Full ballast
250 lbs extra ballast
Modest water and provisions.
100 lbs of anchor and chain.
Sound about right for the stock 60 motor?

Sounds about right. Full ballast slows things down quite a bit for me.

I hardly ever run wide open but if I had to for real, I would dump the ballast. Last time I did that I was trying to beat a thunderstorm coming off the bay.
