Nothing against the Florida forum members but the following excerpt had me in stitches on so many levels
The gentleman in the video who engineered this scenario must have attended the Florida University of Darwin Tech….
Just why he would ever attempt to do this evades me…. He’ll be walking funny for a good bit
Hope everyone’s season gets off to a great start!
(I know that dumb things happen everywhere but Florida seems to a corner on the boat ramp FUBAR market .
Watch out for those FUDT graduates at the boat ramp! )
Best Regards,
Over Easy

I've wasted HOURS watching the Youtube channel "Miami Boat Ramps" Which is why I launch my boat off peak when fewer witnesses are around to see.
When both preparing to leave a dock, or approaching a dock, I remember to tell an inexperienced crew “Remember, we are not here for spectators entertainment.”

Hi All!
As those of us in the northern hemispheres prepare to enjoy the 2025 boating season I’m reminded of the incident where a pair of FUDT graduates tried to refuel their fishing rod holder instead of their gas tank….
Talk about trying to go out with a bang!
Part of our preseason cleanup and checks is to physically look at the fuel tanks, lines, valves and fuel cubbies for integrity and function.
On the Mac26X there is a seam inside the cubbies along the cockpit face that is worth checking to insure that no potentially spilled fuel seeps into that joint and gets trapped in the interspace between the fiberglass shells.
When we modified Over Easy to twin 12 gallon fuel tanks we also enlarged the cubbie-to-cockpit drain holes to be flush with the bottom of the cubbie floors to preclude any spilled or thermal expansion overflow fuel from collecting. There had been about a 1/2 inch lip.
Best Regards,

Hi All!
Here another “How the Heck?” Did they do that from Biscayne Bay, Miami
They successfully split a Tri-toon nearly perfectly in half by nailing the only channel pole in sight at speed!
Couldn’t have done that any better!
And then there’s this… A pleasant day out sailing and THEN THIS!!!
Again I don’t think it could have centered up any better!
Best Regards,

The self splitting feature of pontoons make them perfect for day marker tag.

Hi All!
Here’s a incident that just occurred!
A Hit and Run in Clearwater Florida with a Ferry!!!
Some twit in a cabin cruiser rammed into the rear of a full passenger ferry at speed then backed off the ferry and attempted to run away!!
People were killed and injured on a now incapacitated vessel and the twit makes a run for it?!?!? Unbelievable!
It’s bad enough to have a serious collision but to deliberately flee the scene of a obvious injury incident is as low as it gets!
This is so terribly sad and unfortunate…
I can only hope they throw the book at the twit!
Regretfully,
Over Easy
Ps: Pictures of the boat being taken into evidence that hit the ferry with 45 people on board

No doubt an inebriated captain. Probaby thought the hit and run charge would be better than DUI.
No matter, when injured people are involved, you stop and assist.
Just a follow-on to the ramming of that ferry by that big power boat…
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The same captain and the same boat that crashed into the Clearwater Ferry Sunday night, killing one man and injuring multiple people, was cited by authorities in another Pinellas County boat crash involving multiple injuries years earlier.
The ABC Action News I-team obtained pictures and reports from that 2019 crash, which resembled the recent one in some ways.
Apparently this guy was convicted in the earlier crash but appealed and got off on some technicality!!!
IMO: While by appearances seem to be obvious in that twice a similar type of collision has occurred in the the faster more powerful vessel did not follow the rules in yielding to the slower vessel and standard navigation/operational rules I do hope that a full open unbiased investigation is conducted…..

Hi All!
Did you hear the one about the fly boat in Key Largo FL?
Seems it was a sudden throttle movement but boy that boat caught some air time!
Luckily no one was injured…

Hi All!
As of last summer Florida leads the nation!
This dubious honor seems to have been Florida’s since about 2019 and if recent event are shaping up is working to maintain that distinction in 2025! https://www.wgcu.org/top-story/2024-06- ... -the-state#
