26M Prop Suggestions

Post by adudinsk »

I just repowered to a Suzuki DF60A. We will be doing a prop test run on June 13th, dealer will be bringing a selection of props.
He asked me to post and ask people for prop suggestions and comments (dealer is great that way)
He will be starting with an 11x13 prop.

Any suggestions? Comments?
All would be app.

This poster has an :macx: , so the boat bottom is different than your
:macm: , but I hope this post from a year ago is of help.
Well, my re-power is complete. After much research and discussions with BWY, my marina, and he folks re-powering the boat (Suzuki dealer), I went with the Suzuki DF60AV four-stroke with a 14x9 prop, replacing our old Nissan 50D two-stroke. We tested a wide range of props on the boat, ...

My Suzuki DF70 is spinning a 11x13 prop I believe on my 26M. I'll take a look and see if that's correct.

That turned out to be the best for MY boat. BWY had a slightly higher pitch original prop which I believe was best for sea level salt water. I'm at 4,000' fresh water.

We also have a 14X9 on our Honda 60 which pushes our 26X (know yours is a M). This gives us our best high and low speed fuel mileage. We tried a 14X7 but the 9 works better.

They are starting with an 11x13 for the prop test.
Should I test ballast in or out?
Oh.. will be in fresh water (Lake St. Clair mostly)

Thanks in advance

Test must go like this....

Ballast out...

Motor must get 5500rpm.

If not go to smaller prop....

If it goes for over/near 6000 get bigger prop...

We put a 11 1/2" x 13 pitch.
Fresh motor revs to 5500rpm, was told that after break-in, we may get 100-200 RPM more...
Happy with performance..

What is the motor's MAX RPM at WOT?

I'm not getting max but close enough. I rarely run WOT anyway.

Sounds like a good match to me. I'd be happy with those numbers.
