Good morning everyone! I learned 2 things last night about our boat. 1) it's actually a Venture 22. 2) it uses the Roller Boom Reefing system. Since the mast isn't up just yet to play with things, can anyone point to a video of reefing and unreefing with the roller boom setup? Or just walk me thru the steps of doing each?

Thanks un advance!

Regards,

Will R.

Wow, our first boat growing up was a 27' with roller reefing main. It was a PITA. It had a handle that turned the boom and wrapped the mainsail around it. Then you would secure it with ties along the boom.

I found this on the internet:'

'Yes reefing is done by rotating the boom pulling the main down! The bottom bolt running through your mast should have a wing nut that can easily be undone and pulled out to allow the gooseneck to turn freely, thusly rotating your boom! Dont get me wrong, it is always easier with a second person! Quicker too! I also added a couple of grommets into my main sail, and I can also tie it off if I dont feel like reefing with the boom! Either way works great!
