Good to know. Thanks for the info.Be Free wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 11:10 am I could have saved 1.3hrs of print time if I'd started with the micrometer.
As far as I know I have an original mast and it is set up for a 9mm slug. The base of this gate is 17mm. It was not even close to being able to fit.
I'm going to say that it's not going to work on the.
Well, I don't know which boat you have (X or M), but it appears this 3D printed one one doesn't fit a 26X.TrailerTrash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:36 pm I'd buy one if someone is printing a copy. I don't have a printer, and I'm not going to talk myself into buying one.
Profile says 26D. If I recall, Roger used different mast types over the years.kmclemore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:49 pmWell, I don't know which boat you have (X or M), but it appears this 3D printed one one doesn't fit a 26X.TrailerTrash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:36 pm I'd buy one if someone is printing a copy. Blue water yachts already sells a good mast gate for the 26M (that model has a cutout on one side of the slot for feeding the mast) - see: https://reeua-fzzpa.volusion.store/prod ... 54-1m3.htm
As for the 26X folks, which has a symetrical spread slot for feeding the mast, you might want to check out https://mastgates.com.

I spend most of my money at BWY. It is hard to navigate, but with all the specialized knowledge and the diverse nature of the parts, I imagine that it is a beast to maintain. I don't envy them the job.NiceAft wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 6:05 amKevin, kmclemore wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:49 pmWell, I don't know which boat you have (X or M), but it appears this 3D printed one one doesn't fit a 26X.TrailerTrash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:36 pm I'd buy one if someone is printing a copy. As it so happens, I am in the need of a mast gate for my 2005M. That mast gate from BWY is for a 2007M or newer. I prefer to use BWY because of their support of us, but I find navigating their site to be difficult.
How big is the opening where your slugs are inserted into the mast? This model was supposed to work on a "D" but I'd really be surprised if any of our masts have an opening that wide.TrailerTrash wrote: ↑Wed Aug 06, 2025 7:36 pm I'd buy one if someone is printing a copy. Wait, I must be misunderstanding the purpose of this device. My BWY mast gate (and those I see at mastgate.com) allows the sail slugs to drop down lower than the gate.
