Installing curtains

Looking to dress up the inside of my boat and add some privacy by putting in some curtains. Looked at what was available in West Marine and decided to enlist my wife and do this from scratch.

We have the curtains and purchased the rods-- the only question I still pondering is how to attach the rods. I suspect the liner is to thin, and I don't want to windup with screws exiting into thin air.

I was thinking perhaps double sided adhesive attached to a small piece of wood that I can then screw into.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)

I went into great detail previously, on what I did, and accomplished the same result!

Instead of curtains, I made templates, and obtained heavy duty black Naugahide vinyl and put heavy duty velcro on both sides. ( I think we discussed this before, but could not find it on here?) Turned out pretty good, and paid someone less than $200.00 to do it! Some people have used pleated (horizontal) curtains as well. I did not see exactly how they attached them, but it is possible.

Doing this adds privacy at night, and much cooler during the day! Someday, I'll figure out how to post pics of my mods....but hopefully I explained enough?

And for those of you with the "M", my method may be easier, as well, you guys sure have alot of windows! (portholes)
